The most concerning feature is that some of the ‘evidence’ was supplied by two ‘experts by experience’ employed from an agency and also a specialist adviser. We don’t know what pressures they may have been under but clearly their actions have called into question not only the CQC reports and process, but also whether experts by experience are trustworthy.
As re-inspections will have to take place, a great deal of public money will have been wasted.
